ALSI Becomes Solid-State Lighting Quality Advocate
Appalachian Lighting Systems, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer that specializes in developing and manufacturing high-powered, ultra energy-efficient, light emitting diode (LED) lighting fixtures, is pleased to announce they have become formally accepted into US Department of Energy’s “Solid-State Lighting Quality Advocates” program.
Solid-State Lighting Quality Advocates is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to assure and improve the quality of LED lighting products. Participation in SSL Quality Advocates is open to those who manufacture, sell, and recommend the best in LED lighting. The SSL Quality Advocates program showcases LED luminaire manufacturers who commit to testing products and reporting performance results according to industry standards. For lighting buyers, designers, and energy efficiency programs, the Lighting Facts label provides information essential to evaluating products and identifying the best options.
In addition to becoming a Solid-State Lighting Quality Advocate, Appalachian Lighting has also been notified that 5 of Appalachian Lighting’s ALLED™ brand lighting products have been formally accepted as meeting US DOE’s requirements to receive and display its “Lighting Facts” performance label. “DOE’s Lighting Facts program data is derived and audited from IESNA LM-79 test reports,” stated Robert McAnally, Appalachian Lighting’s Vice President of Operations. “These test reports, from our DOE-certified independent test laboratory, clearly show our products to be industry-leading, from the perspective of total Lumens (light output), Lumens-per-watt (efficiency), and color accuracy.”
