Appalachian Lighting Systems Helps Ice Line “Go Green”…and Save!

Monday, August 24th, 2009

When Pennsylvania-made products directly impact the ability of Pennsylvania businesses to reduce costs and save money, the working men and women of Pennsylvania are the real winners.

And that’s the recent win-win result when Appalachian Lighting Systems, Inc. (ALSI) helped Ice Line Quad Rinks “go green” and save money by reducing energy costs.

A participant in the Pennsylvania Small Business Grant Program, Ice Line must meet the energy reduction requirements of the Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection. How did Ice Line achieve this? By installing Stouch Lighting’s LED high bay lighting fixtures. This leading edge LED technology, designed and manufactured by ALSI will help Ice Line reduce energy costs by up to 74% and easily surpass the 25% energy savings mandated by the Pennsylvania Small Business Grant.

“The LED lights are noticeably whiter, brighter, and cleaner,” Mike Graves, Ice Line Vice President said. “We are so pleased with the improved lighting quality and energy savings that we’re planning for the other two rinks and the complex’s massive parking lot to be retrofitted with Stouch Lighting’s LED lights.”

Helping Pennsylvania businesses like Ice Line succeed also has direct benefits for the public. Over 6,500 individuals of all ages attend this state-of-the art facility each week to enjoy ice skating and ice hockey entertainment.

Stouch Lighting is an authorized distributor of American-made LED lighting products from Pennsylvania-based Appalachian Lighting Systems, Inc. These lighting systems utilize American-made advanced LED components. ALSI’s lighting products have demonstrated an ability to reduce energy costs from 70-80% and greatly lower maintenance costs, while increasing lighting quality.
